Mandatory vaccines for travelling pet
What are the mandatory vaccines for my pet to fly on a plane?
The required vaccines change according to the destination. In general, the rabies vaccine (anti-rabies) is essential for air travel for all animals affected by rabies: dogs, cats, ferrets… For the case of rabies vaccine, your pet must be older 3 months, and have been vaccinated for less than a year.
Some destinations require specific vaccines. For example, dogs to Ireland, Malta, Finland or the United Kingdom need treatment for echinococcosis. For Norway, the distemper vaccine and the leptospirosis vaccine are also requested.
