Airlines only accept a limited number of animals on the same flight. It is therefore possible that the airline of your destination refuses to accept your pet on the flight of your choice if other passengers have already reserved the available pet places. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to get ready as soon as possible to fly your dog, cat, bird, etc. not to have any bad surprises.
The number of cages in cabins is indeed limited to a few animals, likewise for pets to be transported as luggages in the hold. For example, the airline KLM only accepts 3 pets as checked luggage per passenger. For a large number of animals travelling, freight transport is the most suitable. To know if your animal will have to travel in the cabin, in the hold or by freight, consult our dedicated page.
